Vanessa Sheets is of Peruvian nationality, starting her musical career when she was 8 in percussion, then piano at 10 years old. Her initial studies of piano were made under the direction of Pianist Heitor Caballero (PerĂº), later with the Pianist Carmen Escobedo and Helena Ichikawa as well. Soon after she had specialized studies in Piano with Pianist Nikolai Maloff (Canada) in the National Conservatory of Music (Lima-Peru).

She also participated in the Conservatory Choir in 2000 as soprano first, under the direction of Professor Antonio Paz. Later she became the professor of music in institutions such as the Webenbauer School and Norbert Wiener University in many levels of study.

She assumed the position of Choir Director at the Divina Misericordia Catholic Church (Lima- Peru) in 2004 and taught there for 3 years. Her students in Lima performed very successfully at their recitals.

In 2005 she formed the ensemble Adagio interpreting contemporary and classic music appearing in different activities and offering concerts. Then in 2006 she produced her first CD as Choir Director.

In addition to teaching piano, Vanessa taught classes on music theory, piano literature, guitar, percussion, technical vocal, and history. She also ran a private studio for students in Peru at the intermediate and advanced level, and from younger students to adults.

Vanessa participated in the choir of the First Presbyterian Church Atlanta as soprano under the direction of Charlie Whittaker in 2007.

Vanessa has a fresh innovating methodology. She allows the children to discover their potential in music and has many years of experience in musical instruction for children just starting out.

Currently Vanessa lives in Atlanta Georgia where she teaches piano at Eclectic Music School in Virginia Highlands.
